We just received Barefoot's newest title - Shopping with Dad - and it was a hit at our house! We sat down by the fire and I read it aloud to both Connor (6 1/2) and Ella (4 1/2) twice...they loved the rhyming prose and the beautiful - and funny - artwork!

Here's a summary of the book...

It’s Saturday, and one small girl and her Dad are heading for the supermarket while Mom is working. It’s so exciting! How can she contain herself? She tries —but she can’t! Did you "Talk Like a Pirate" yesterday?

Arghhh...I meant to post this yesterday, mateys! Did you know that it was International Talk Like a Pirate Day? Oh, what fun...especially with a class full of 10 year-olds! They had a great time with it and trying to sound like pirates for most of the day. I had to ask myself if it was one of my best ideas to share this with them at the beginning of the day? Maybe not...!

Even so, one of Barefoot's most fun and most popular books with CDs - Portside Pirates - kept playing over and over in my mind. Its such fun and so catchy! Check it out...or you'll be walkin' the plank! Arghhh!
